In the wake of human inactivity, nature bounces back. The pandemic has afforded the opportunity to walk through the woods and see and hear nature at its best. The quieted traffic of cars and trucks give way to the song of birds and chittering of small animals. It is not uncommon now to see birds such as hummingbirds, ducks, and even a hawk or two. While walking the dog, we have encountered small animals such as rabbits, skunks, and opossum that normally hide away from the heavy trampling of human footsteps during the day. You can even see the resurgence of predators as nature reasserts the balance needed to maintain a healthy ecosystem.
What does this teach us about leadership? That in the face of adversity, quiet resilience and reflection are the keys to growth and reemergence.
